Same chart, different fabric. Find the finished size that feels right for your project.
Finished stitched area, working over one square of Aida. Formula: stitches ÷ fabric count = inches; multiply by 2.54 for cm. Add extra fabric on every side for framing or finishing. Linen worked over two threads needs a different effective count.
A real example
A 100 × 80 stitch chart on 14-count Aida measures 18.1 × 14.5 cm (7.14 × 5.71 inches). On 18-count Aida it measures 14.1 × 11.3 cm. The number of stitches stays the same.
Leave room to finish
The result measures the stitched area. Your fabric needs additional space for the hoop, mounting and finishing. Decide on that margin before cutting.
